We’re Hiring a General Manager

Palm & Pawn Hotel is seeking an experienced and community-minded General Manager / Licensee to lead and grow this iconic North Wagga venue. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility across all areas of the hotel, including bar, bistro, accommodation and gaming.

We’re looking for a strong hospitality leader who is commercially astute, people-focused, and ready to take real ownership of both the team and the venue.

Established in 1876, the Palm & Pawn Hotel is a family-friendly local in the heart of North Wagga. The venue offers affordable accommodation, a newly renovated bistro and bar, and a relaxed beer garden that welcomes guests of all ages.

Known for its warm, cosy atmosphere and genuine service, the Palm & Pawn plays an important role in the local community while also welcoming travellers to the region.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, managing and developing the venue team

  • Overseeing all operations across bar, dining, kitchen, accommodation and gaming

  • Driving a customer-first culture focused on friendly, consistent service

  • Managing financial performance, budgets and venue compliance

  • Building strong relationships with locals, suppliers and the wider community

  • Ensuring the venue maintains high standards of presentation, safety and service

  • Working closely with O’Hara & Co Hotels to support strategic direction

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Licensee or Venue Manager in a hotel setting

  • Proven ability to lead and develop a hospitality team

  • Strong commercial mindset and operational capability

  • Experience managing multi-faceted venues (bar, bistro, gaming, accommodation)

  • Passion for hospitality and community engagement

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
